Health insurances

BIB broker offers all types of health insurances,
ranging from economical to comprehensive cover.

What does health insurance cover?

  1. All health insurances cover Covid-19 hospital treatment expenses.
  2. New health insurance policies cover Covid-19 hospital treatment after 30 days.
  3. Treatment costs for illness that is covered under the terms and conditions of the insurance policy.
  4. Treatment costs for accidental injuries (not self-inflicted).
  5. In-patient treatment is the minimum required purchase.
  6. Emergency Assistance and Evacuation is normally included.
  7. Out-patient treatment and dental cover are options for some insurance policies.
  8. Treatment costs are consistent with generally accepted standards of medical practice in the country in which treatment is being received.
  9. Treatment is clinically appropriate in terms of type, duration, location and frequency for that condition.
  10. The insurance company will only pay for reasonable and customary charges. Costs should not be more than they would normally charge to other patients in the same area. Hospitals that are overcharging will not be paid the full amounts billed to the insurance company. The excess charges have to be paid by you.

What does health insurance not cover?

  1. Treatment costs for pre-existing conditions and related conditions (exceptions only if agreed by underwriters of certain insurance companies) (below items a. to f. are all linked together as if they are in one sentence).
    1. Any medical condition or related condition for which you have received treatment.
    2. Or medical condition that you had symptoms of.
    3. Or to the best of your knowledge knew this condition existed.
    4. Or sought advice for this condition.
    5. Or taken (prescription or non-prescription) medication for treatment.
    6. Prior to the start date of the insurance policy.
  2. Accidents while intoxicated or under the influence of illegal drugs.
  3. Most companies exclude treatment in the USA or limit it to life threatening emergencies and accidental injuries.

Application process for health insurances:

  1. Complete application form in full. Do not miss any information, if any question is not applicable, write a line or “XXXXX” so the underwriter knows you did not forget or skip the question.
  2. All applications must be completed in your own handwriting and signed….unless it is for a child where the parent must sign on behalf of the children.
  3. Copies of passport photo page and visa page are required.
  4. Application documents can be sent by email, fax or post. We do not need the original documents.
  5. If using email, you can scan the documents to PDF format or take photos of the documents and send by email.
  6. If there is not enough space on the application form, use a separate page. The more details you give in your answers, the faster your application will be processed. Make sure you include the name of the doctor (if possible), name of hospital, dates of treatment and if the medical condition is cured or ongoing. List of medication taken.
  7. Be prepared to send more documents to support your answers. Underwriters may ask for hospital documents, test results, doctor’s reports or a check-up result.
  8. Not declaring your true medical condition is going to give the insurance company a good reason to cancel your policy at a later date.

Notes on health check-ups:

  1. Any applicant aged 40 or more should agree to a voluntary medical check-up.
  2. Applicants under the age of 40 do not need to take a check-up, but it is always recommended.
  3. Check-up results do not have to be sent to the insurance company or broker. The customer keeps the results and only refers to them if there is a claim dispute in the first year of your new health insurance policy.
  4. Check-ups can be done at any hospital.
  5. The positive benefits of a check-up far outweigh the negative aspects. Annual check-ups are a part of normal healthy life. Early detection of a medical condition is always to the benefit of that person.
  6. Avoiding medical check-ups will not help the customer. Check-up or no check-up; if the customer has a pre-existing medical condition, even if there is no medical record at a hospital, the insurance company has to rely on the results of the treating doctor to state when this condition was present. You are relying on the treating doctor to assess you condition. The treating doctor has to make an educated guess to when this condition first manifested itself. The doctor can easily make a mistake. A medical check-up eliminates the chance of a mistake.
  7. A full check-up will include the following tests:
  • Physical Examination
  • CBC Blood test
  • Fasting Blood Sugar
  • Cholesterol
  • Triglyceride
  • HDH and LDL tests
  • Kidney function tests; BUN and Creatine
  • Liver function tests; SGOT, SGPT. Alk. Phos.
  • Uric acid
  • Urine examination
  • Stool examination
  • Chest X-ray
  • EKG
  • EST
  • Abdomen ultrasound
