An open letter to everyone that has come to this website.

I take a great interest in health subjects.
I will share as much health information with you as I have collected.
I started my journey to good health a few years ago.
I was overweight and tired all the time.
I remember on one business trip to Bangkok where I had made 3 appointments the same day.
I was so tired after the 2nd appointment, I had to cancel the 3rd appointment and go to the hotel to rest!
I thought I was just getting too old……I was 52 years old and I weighed 122 kilos.
My pants were very tight on my waist and I was uncomfortable each time I sat down.

After watching one movie, I decided to change my life.
This movie can be seen on YouTube for free, just search youtube for the key words.
Please take the time to watch this movie; it’s entertaining and fun…… I have watched it several times (learning more each time).
The movie is titled: Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead.
It is the true story about Mr. Joe Cross and his journey to good health.

His website: https://www.rebootwithjoe.com/juicing/

Joe Cross was overweight and sick for many years.
He went to see many different doctors to treat his ailments.
Each doctor treated Joe with more and more pills……until he was taking 15 prescription pills-a-day!
Joe decided that this was not the solution, there had to be a better way.
He researched many different websites and found out about the benefits of juicing.

He purchased a juicer and started drinking home-made fresh vegetable juice instead of 3 meals-a-day.
He drank nothing but home-made fresh vegetable juice for 60 days non-stop.
At the end of 60 days, something wonderful happened.

  1. He lost his huge belly.
  2. He dropped 39 kilos.
  3. He was able to stop taking all the prescription pills.
  4. He did something the doctors failed to do……HE CURED HIMSELF.

Photos of Joe, before and after 60 days of juicing.
I thought to myself, if he can do this………….I can too!
I bought myself a juicer and started drinking juice.
Over the years, I have purchased many juicers and worn out several different models.
It’s true, I use the juicer so much that I wear it out.
I think I have tried at least 8 different juicers.
I now know a lot about juicers, there are good ones and there are really bad ones.
I recommend that you only use a slow juicer because the fast ones are wasteful.

I proved it when I compared juicers at a friend’s home.
His wife had just made 3 cups of juice using a fast juicer.
I was delivering a slow juicer that day and said “Let’s try putting the leftover vegetable pulp into the slow juicer to see if we get any more juice.”
Believe it or not, the slow juicer gave us 3 more cups of juice from the discarded pulp of the fast juicer.
The slow juicer is able to extract DOUBLE the juice volume from the same amount of vegetables and fruit.
I will never use a fast juicer again!

I continue to drink vegetable juice everyday. It is part of my standard breakfast.
Mon-Fri, I drink a glass of juice and have a selection of fresh fruit……later the same morning, I have a cup of coffee and a cookie at the office.
On weekends, I splurge. I add 2 slices of bread or a pancake in addition to the juice, fruit and coffee.
I never eat bread on weekdays.

I am lazy to clean the juicer everyday, so I make several liters of juice 2 x a month and freeze the juice.
Fresh vegetable juice starts to go sour (bad) after 5 days in the refrigerator…..freezing it makes it last forever.
I use 1.5 liter water bottles to freeze the juice in.
I take out a bottle the night before and defrost it in the kitchen sink so it is ready for my morning drink. remember to shake the bottle before pouring into your glass
Freezing is not the preferred method because the freezing process kills some of the health benefits of fresh juice.
If you can make fresh vegetable juice every 4 days, you will be drinking juice with a higher concentration of healthy phyto-nutrients.

The recipe for the juice I drink is below:

  • Kale (this vegetable is one of the most nutritious)
  • Carrots
  • Celery
  • Green Apples
  • Beetroot (this vegetable helps to clean your liver)
  • Oranges (Sunkist or Navel oranges)
  • Broccoli
  • Turmeric
  • Tomato juice

I use Tomato juice instead of fresh tomatoes because the tomato is so soft. Most of the tomato juice goes out with the pulp, instead of going with the extracted juice. I use only one brand of tomato juice, the Doi Kham brand. Doi Kham is available at all supermarkets in Thailand. This is the only brand with support under Royal Patronage. This is the only brand that only sells juice made from real fruit and vegetables………..unlike most other brands that sell juices made from juice-concentrate mixed with chemicals. I don’t know what bands you have in your country, just choose one that doesn’t have preservatives and isn’t made from concentrated juice.

The proportion is approximately 80% vegetables and 20% fruit, otherwise the juice is too sweet.

I recommend you watch the movie Forks over Knives to learn more about good healthy eating habits.
It is a very entertaining movie I have watched several times.
I took a few screen-shots of the movie about what happened in Norway during WW2.

Before the start of World War 2, Norwegians were gradually getting sicker and sicker.
Their diets were slowly changing, they were eating more and more meat products.
Each year, more and more of the population is dying of cardio-vascular disease because of the greater amount of meat they were eating.

In 1940, the German Army invaded Norway and confiscated all the farm animals They reserved all the meat to feed the German Army.
As a result, with almost no meat consumption, the Norwegians became healthier and lived longer.

In 1945, the Germans lost the war and left Norway.
The Norwegians went back to their old-style diet habits.
A greater number of Norwegians died because they got sicker with cardio-vascular disease.

https://nutritionfacts.org is my default go-to website for health information.

Dr. Michael Greger and his team read hundreds of medical reports and journals every year and condense this information into layman’s English that everyone can understand.

Go to this website for lots more information about health. There are over 2,000 videos on Dr. Greger’s website. They are about 3-5 minutes long in simple easy-to-understand English.

Have a look at this video on how changing diet helped Dr. Greger’s grandmother live 31 years more.
Instead of dying at age 65, she lived to age 96 years!

She was able to go from walking only a few steps in pain to………walking 16 kilometers-a-day.
All she did was change her diet.

Above is a photo from a video of a heart artery that has repaired itself in less than 3 years.
This was accomplished with a change in diet…………no operation and no drugs.
A picture is worth a thousand words.
The photo is a screen-shot from the short video by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn doing a TED talk…

MY STORY

I have lost 26 kilos………and my blood pressure dropped automatically.
I now weigh 97 kilos………..and I am going to drop to 94 soon.
The ideal blood pressure should be 120/80…….mine is now averaging 110/70
I have never taken blood pressure medication.
I keep track of my blood pressure by checking it at home regularly.

Since the January 2019, I have lost a lot of weight.
I used to weigh 122 kilos………now I weigh 97 kilos.
My pants fall off if I don’t wear a belt.
My target weight is 95 kilos and hope to reach this soon.
I am in no rush, because I am not on a diet, I have made a lifestyle change.
I do not starve myself and I am never hungry.
I simply choose the right food to eat that is nutritious and filling. The food is high-volume and low-calorie.
The weight was lost for a simple reason……economics (the improved health of my wallet).
If I maintain my XXXL size, I have to be prepared to spend a lot more for doctors and hospitals as I grow older.
Losing the weight makes sense because now I can improve my chances of living a longer, healthy life and not having to pay those blood-sucking doctors!

Good health translates into the better financial health.
Everyone I talk to about the lost weight is interested in my story when I emphasize the economic benefits.
If you only talk about the health benefits, they lose interest quickly.
If you tell them my story, they willingly listen and learn:
I lost weight so I wouldn’t have to give all my money away to strangers when I grow old.
Being overweight means I will be a higher risk for many diseases, including; heart/stroke/cardiovascular disease, cancers, diabetes/blood diseases, liver disease, kidney disease……..and more.

Staying overweight means I will grow old and sickly and have to rely on doctors, hospitals and expensive medication.
My biggest fear is being stuck in a wheelchair or having to rely on others to take care of me when I am unable to care for myself..
All my assets and money I have saved working my whole life will be given away to doctors and hospitals.
I would rather give my money to my family……….not strangers!
If I maintain a normal weight and stay healthy, my family will benefit from my efforts.
I know that getting sick and needing an operation is going to be VERY EXPENSIVE.
So if you think staying healthy is expensive……….try getting sick and you will understand why hospitals earn so much.

The main reason I have dropped my weight is for financial reasons……I cannot afford to get sick.
Staying healthy is the cheapest option for me.
I don’t want to retire and have to give all my money to doctors to stay alive.

I hope my journey to good health has encouraged you to do the same.
We are all given one body and have to maintain it for our whole lives.
Do you know that our bodies are designed to last 120 years?
Most people in the world fail to take good care of their bodies…..this is revealed by the number of our friends that have already died.
Most people fail to learn about healthy food.
Most people are too lazy to implement changes to their lifestyles to improve their health.
If you don’t change, the most expensive health insurance will not save you.
I decided to lose weight for only one reason…………money.
It costs more to be fat because you will gradually grow sicker from several preventable diseases.

Regards,
Eric.
